Title IX & Compliance

62_webOur college is dedicated to fostering and maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive environment that meets the educational, physical, spiritual, and social needs of the entire campus community. We value each individual on our campus and are committed to demonstrating this by providing support, information, and advocacy for all students and employees.

On this page, you will find our statements on non-discrimination, disability compliance, Title IX compliance, grievance procedures, and campus security procedures. Our goal is to provide information that will inform you of your rights and protections.

Notice of Non-Discrimination

Our college does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, national origin, age, handicap, veteran status, genetic information, or political affiliation in provision of educational opportunities, programs and activities, or employment opportunities and benefits.

Disability Accommodations & Compliance

It is our policy to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 as amended, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations that prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. Section 504 and the ADA require that no qualified individual with an appropriately documented, disclosed disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of the College, or be subjected to discrimination by the College. Consistent with the requirements of the ADA, opportunities afforded generally to our students are equally afforded to students with disabilities. We are committed to providing appropriate academic adjustments and auxiliary aids and services necessary to afford an individual with a disability an equal opportunity to participate in our programs.

It is our policy to respond to requests for accommodation(s) from qualified individuals and provide reasonable accommodations necessary to ensure equal access to employment, education opportunities, programs, services, and activities in the most integrated setting appropriate.

Title IX Compliance

We will not tolerate any form of behavior that could be reasonably interpreted as sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, or sexual violence against or by any of our students, faculty, staff or visitors.

We recognize the importance of fostering a learning environment in which all individuals can thrive and are motivated to do their best, strengthened by their different backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences. We are committed to maintaining a learning environment that is free of sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, or sexual violence.

We hold to the unchanging truth of the Bible that sexual intercourse is reserved for the marriage of one man and one woman as His gift and for the sake of families. The Bible condemns as sin premarital sex and the trivializing of God’s gift of sex in pornography, sexually suggestive behavior, or sexual harassment, as well as in homosexual acts.

It is our policy to provide an educational, employment, and business environment free of all forms of sex discrimination, including but not limited to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, written or physical conduct or communications constituting sexual harassment, as defined in this policy and as otherwise prohibited by state and federal statutes. Sexual harassment, including acts of sexual assault and sexual misconduct, is a form of sex discrimination and is prohibited at our college. The sexual harassment of College students, faculty, and staff by non-College employees and guests doing business or providing services on campus (e.g., contractors and vendors) also is prohibited by this policy. This policy applies to all College students, faculty, and staff, to other members of our Community, and to contractors, consultants, and vendors doing business or providing services to our college.

Campus Awareness & Security

We urge members of our campus community to follow established safety guidelines and actively involve themselves in maintaining a safe and secure environment. Students are expected to report any suspicious persons or activity. We maintain security guards, security cameras, electronic access doors and a strategically placed alarm system. For more information contact the Student Affairs Office.

According to the requirements of the student’s Right-To-Know and Campus Security Act, as amended by the Higher Education Technical Amendments of 1991, we publish and distribute an annual security report which is available to all students and employees. This report may be viewed on the Internet at http://ope.ed.gov/security/.

Our institution also reports to the campus community incidents of criminal activity such as: burglary, forcible or non-forcible motor vehicle theft, robbery, aggravated assault, sexual offenses or murder. All crimes reported to campus security authorities or local police agencies, and considered by this institution to represent a threat to students or employees will be announced or published in an effort to prevent similar crimes.
